Swing Time - DJ Giorgos Markakis | As the night falls, in the garden of the Historical Museum of Crete

27/08/2018

The Swing era, of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, comes to life on Wednesday, August 29th at 21:00, on a retro night in the garden of the Historical Museum of Crete. The music –in rhythms that were popular before the appearance of Rock ‘n’ Roll– will be chosen by the Professor, Giorgos Markakis (gMark), a music producer at Best Radio (94.7).

This Wednesday evening, we will be accompanied by Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Andrews Sisters, Benny Goodman, and many more contemporary performers of this music genre.

With the reduced price ticket of 3 euros, the visitors of the Museum will have the opportunity to enjoy the music in the garden of the HMC and wander around its permanent collections and temporary exhibitions [Diamantis Diamantopoulos. Teratologies. The History of Man (Level 1), Natalia Mela: 25 Sculptures (Level 0), German Paratroopers at the Battle of Crete (Level 2)]. Audio guide devices will be available (free of charge) at the entrance of the Museum.

On Wednesday evening, the Historical Museum of Crete will be open from 20:00 until 23:00. During this time, the HMC bar will be open. The HMC shop –with a wide range of the Society of Cretan Historical Studies publications as well as the creations of new designers– will also be open.

Next scheduled late night live:
