AS THE NIGHT FALLS - The Blue Onion Experiment
24/07/2019
The Blue Onion Experiment will tell us “Live Blues & Other Stories” at the final concert of this year’s AS THE NIGHT FALLS, on Wednesday, 7 August at 21:00, in the garden of the Historical Museum.
A two-hour musical journey with songs by B.B. King, Lil Green, Etta James, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Imelda May, Vaya Con Dios, to Tsitsanis and other Greek blues covers, in the garden of the Neoclassical Museum building.
The Blue Onion Experiment were born recently in Ierapetra to pass on their love of authentic Blues. They follow a path from the Route 66 bridge over the Mississippi all the way to rebetika and pentatonic scales hidden in the refugee alleyways of Piraeus.
The group consists of Eleanna Karandeinou (vocals), Manos Perakakis (electric and acoustic guitar, vocals) and Michalis Feretzakis (keyboard). Eleanna Karandeinou has travelled many musical miles in the world of song and is a former member of Stamatis Kraounakis’ Speira-Speira group.
During the music events, the general admission of €5.00 includes a night-time tour of the HMC permanent collections and the new temporary exhibitions Alexis Akrithakis | On the Move and CHANIA 1941-1945, from 20:00 to 23:00. Cool drinks are available at the Museum bar. The Museum Shop, with the publications of the Cretan Society of Historical Studies and works by artists and young designers, will also be open.
