AS THE NIGHT FALLS with Anna Psichoyiou

08/07/2019

On the third live event of this summer’s AS THE NIGHT FALLS, on Wednesday 31 July, we welcome Anna Psichoyiou – as always at 21:00 in the Museum garden.

The singer will captivate us with Renta, her debut personal album (2018), and her single Etsi m’aresei na zo (That’s How I Like to Live) with which she first introduced herself to the public. She will also give renditions in the style she loves of favourite songs by Greek artists including Dionysis Savvopoulos and Manolis Lidakis, with whom she has worked on the Athens musical stage.

With a vocal range darting among Balkan rhythms and crossing pop/rock pathways with Greek urban folk laiko, such as “French hasapiko” or “zeibekiko from Argentina”, Anna Psichoyiou, with musicians Giorgos Dinakos (acoustic guitar) and Nikos Ikonomeas (clarinet), mix different worlds on their musical palette, offering a summer night at the Museum full of colour and emotion.

Concert time: 21:00-23:00

During the music events, the general admission of €5.00 includes a night-time tour of the HMC permanent collections and the new temporary exhibitions Alexis Akrithakis | On the Move and CHANIA 1941-1945, from 20:00 to 23:00. Cool drinks are available at the Museum bar. The Museum Shop, with the publications of the Cretan Society of Historical Studies and works by artists and young designers, will also be open.
