Alex Drakos Trio | As the night falls, in the garden of the Historical Museum of Crete

18/07/2018

On the 18th of July, at 21:00, the drummer Alex Drakos Ktistakis (Αλέξανδρος Κτιστάκης), presents along with his band, in the garden of the Historical Museum of Crete, the musical performance “Tora”, a story of internal reflection unfolded through a “game” of poetry, literature and music.

Alex Drakos Trio’s music is based on Jazz and it incorporates elements from a wide range of musical genres (rock, pop, electro, Greek traditional music), combined with pre-recorded narration, poetry and prose. Alex Drakos will collaborate on stage with Lefteris Kordis, a pianist and a professor at Berklee College of Music (Boston) and Nikos Hatzitsakos, a bassist in New York. Dimitris Karpouzas will be responsible for sound engineering.

The band has made numerous appearances on several music stages in Athens (BIOS, six d.o.g.s., Gazarte etc.), they have collaborated with important artists (Giorgos Kontrafouris, Takis Paterelis, Andreas Polizogopoulos, Kostis Xristodoulou etc.) and have recently released the record “Tora” (Puzzlemusic 2015), in which they worked alongside David Lynch (narration in “Drum Suffering”, inspired by Arthur Miller’s text).

On Wednesday evening, the Historical Museum of Crete will be open from 20:00 until 23:00. During this time, the HMC bar and the HMC Shop will be open as well.

With the 5 euro ticket, the visitors of the Museum can attend the late night live performance in the garden of the HMC and wander around the Museum’s permanent collections and temporary exhibitions [Diamantis Diamantopoulos.
